I had made the decision to become a life coach a couple of months before I got the email announcing 90 Day Business Launch from you and Laura Simms, and had been dreaming about what that could look like, but not actually planning. Your email felt like a sign â€" here was a program where I could get guidance from two awesome business coaches who had built their businesses from scratch! And what really sold me was the ongoing support, both from you and Laura and from the private Facebook group where all of the Launchers could hang out. I really thrive when I have group support and accountability. What business did you launch, and how did you realize it was right for you? I launched a life coaching business at thebravecouncil.com. I help single, smart, successful women stop waiting for a partner to make their dreams come true and live their bravest lives. What’s stopping you from living the life you want right now? I realized it was the right business for me by, wait for it, hiring a life coach to help guide me through the process of clarifying exactly what my dreams were! I had been thinking about becoming a coach for years, but needed help quieting the chatter from society, friends, family, and my own fears so I could hear what I truly wanted. What was your biggest takeaway from 90 Day Business Launch? Figure out what’s necessary versus what would be nice to have. Make a plan with the necessary items and stick to it! The important thing is to get your business out into the world and then you can tweak and beautify it as you go. Without the 90 Day Business Launch plan and guidance I would probably still be trying to find the perfect homepage picture and messing around with the graphic design of my newsletter, and, and, and before I launched. Instead, I already have a launched business and am bringing in paying clients. Can I still mess with my newsletter’s design? Absolutely! But I learned from you and Laura to do what’s necessary to the best of my (current) ability, get it out there, and then continue to build. Put another way: don’t let your obsessive, perfectionist tendencies prevent you from launching your business and bringing in the money! What would you tell someone now that was in your shoes when we first started working together?  Whats your best tip to allow them to make a grown-up living doing what they love? You can find a way to do it! Before I got serious about my business and joined 90 Day Business Launch, I had a lot of thoughts running through my head that were telling me it wasn’t the “right” time to do it (like the “right” time exists!): I have six figures of student debt, a day job I have to keep for now so that I can have things like a roof over my head, I’m single, didn’t know anyone else who’d started their own business, didn’t know how to create a website… I can go on for quite some time listing things that went through my head before I took the plunge to launch my own business. But those aren’t reasons; they’re excuses. It will be hard. It will be frustrating. But you can figure it out and It. Will. Be. Worth. It. Whats on the horizon for your business? The networks and reputation you build over the journey ahead is pivotal to your next step and people remember good people a long way down the track.What career advice do you wish someone had given you after you graduated high school?I was pretty lucky to have leaders who cared at the early stages of my career and a father who lived his passion as a career. So, I was well guided. I suggest you look out and take note of the leaders around you. Get to know them, listen to them, ask them lots of questions, you will learn a lot more than what you studied. The practical business skills to get you through the lows and to the highs.What important qualities and skills should people have if they want to become a marketer?I think you need to be inquisitive, be prepared to listen and learn and never be satisfied with status-quo.
